#591

Venho para casa uma noite e
encontro um grande olho amarelo
sentado num copo na soleira da janela. Ele dorme.

Uma vez foi um botão
em formato de margarida.
Lembrou-te um girassol
e trouxe-o para mim.

No meio da noite rouba-me
para longas conversas
com as estrelas e risos
com as ruas vazias.

Nos dias mais difíceis,
ainda te espero nas coisas pequenas.

I come home one night and find
a big yellow eye, sitting in a glass
on my window sill. It sleeps.

Once it was a button shaped like a daisy,
you thought it looked like a sunflower,
and wanted me to keep it.

You steal me from home in
the middle of the night
for long conversations with stars
and laughs with the empty streets.

In the worst days,
I still wait for you in the little things.

#13 De coisas perdidas │Of lost things│

- presente do meu melhor amigo -,
algumas contas perto da data de vencimento,
livros,
meu anel favorito,
sombrinhas,
algum dinheiro,
chaveiros,
no outro,
desapareceram.
Só agora estou me encontrando novamente.

│I should have listened to my mother at least once,
when she advised me to be more organized.
I would have avoided losing 4 or 5 single pieces of earrings
(the ones I liked the most),
a very special sunflower-shaped button
- a present from my best friend -,
some bills near deadline for payment,
books,
my favorite ring ever,
umbrellas,
some money,
key chains,
a bunch of pictures,
notes for a knights' novel,
several pens and mechanical pencils,
a tiny elephant piece from my collection,
postcards I never sent to friends,
phone numbers on small slips of paper,
jigsaw puzzles pieces,
CDs left out of their cases,
bus tickets
among other things that have also lost place in my memory.
But among all the things I lost,
the ones I miss most
are some friendly faces I may never see again.
We lose sight of people unintentionally.
One minute they're right there by your side,
the next,
they are missing.
We're orphans.
I wish I could have done better,
but I lost myself, too
and totally forgot to leave bread crumbles to help me find my way back home
- It took me a little long,
but I found myself again.│

#1

Às vezes eu queria poder viver numa lembrança boa.
