Ficar acordada na cama
com pensamentos que
nenhuma moeda pode comprar.

Protegê-los do tempo
que habita a escuridão
e espia

a minha mente
através de uma fresta
nos dias.

Ele vai roubá-lo de mim,
o tempo.
Virá quando eu estiver

muito triste ou
cansada demais
para lutar contra

o estado de ser
nada além de
uma memória perdida.

to lie awake in bed
with thoughts of you
no penny could buy

to guard them from
time which dwells
in the dark and spies

on my mind through
a crevice in the days.
it will steal you from me,

time. it will come
when I'm the saddest
and too tired to fight off -

the state of being
nothing but a
lost memory.

É como estar de volta
ao quintal onde cresci
entre bonecas e insetos.

Brinco na grama,
numa tarde quente,
persigo grilos.

Não os apanho.

It's like being
Back in the yard
Where I grew up
Amongst dolls and bugs.

I play on the grass,
In a hot afternoon,
I chase crickets.

I can’t catch them.

It was a house with no bedtime stories,
but it smelled like rosemary
and there was a mother
dressed in love and an apron

singing in the kitchen
among vegetables,

trying to come up with artful plans
to make us eat them.

Lembrei hoje
do monstro da minha infância
que vivia debaixo da cama
e acabei chorando
o choro
triste

Today I remembered
the childhood monster
who used to live under my bed.
I ended up crying
at the memory of him,
it brought a lump to my throat,
because
It's still hard to deal with the fact
I'm a grown-up now
and I'll never live those days again.

Eu tenho um amor inventado
que tira os meus pés do chão
e alimenta meus sonhos e poesia,

I have an invented love
that takes my feet off the ground
and feeds my dreams and poetry,
a chink-on-the-ceiling-like love
through which I escape light
to an alternative reality.
I have a secret-like love written on a persistent memory,
a laughter-like love that makes
both my mouth and belly hurt,
my invented love
that makes me forget our daily truth
for a moment.

Sempre o silêncio,
sempre um oceano entre nós,
sempre a saudade,
e os dias nascem e morrem,
e eu me perco em memórias.

Always the silence,
always an ocean between us,
always the missing,
and days begin and end,
and I lose myself in memories.

Não, você não está sozinho.
Enquanto eu viver
você terá um rosto
para chamar de amigo
e mesmo quando eu partir
sempre haverá
uma memória minha.

No, you're not alone.
As long as I live
you'll have a face to call
a friend
and even when I leave this world
there'll always be
a memory of me.

onde possa me refugiar
até o fim da minha vida
e que consiga me encontrar,
mesmo depois de já ter me esquecido.

I enjoy dreaming I'll meet that significant person

that will present me with a memory

where I'll be always find shelter

for the remaining days in my life.

Someone that will be able to find me,

even after having forgotten me.

A juventude permanece pra sempre
nos nossos olhos,
apesar do cansaço nos traços
e das marcas do tempo
gravadas na pele e na memória.

Youth will be always be seen in your eyes,
despite of the weariness in the lines of your face,
and the scars of time engraved
in your skin and memory.

Virá a tempestade e

Many stories can't survive time
and time is faster and faster.
Sixty minutes by your side are like seconds
counted on the fingers
but a second without you
is like forever in the living room clock
whose hands
move very slow.
Mornings and afternoons
are lost in the dust of hours,
locked in a room full of clocks that don't work anymore.
It won't make any sense in a few years
and it won't make any difference
in less time than expected.
Storm will come
and we'll have forgotten the chairs in the porch,
wind will cover them with a thick dust
and we'll have erased memories
- it's all a question of time.
Nothing lasts forever.

#13 De coisas perdidas │Of lost things│

- presente do meu melhor amigo -,
algumas contas perto da data de vencimento,
livros,
meu anel favorito,
sombrinhas,
algum dinheiro,
chaveiros,
no outro,
desapareceram.
Só agora estou me encontrando novamente.

│I should have listened to my mother at least once,
when she advised me to be more organized.
I would have avoided losing 4 or 5 single pieces of earrings
(the ones I liked the most),
a very special sunflower-shaped button
- a present from my best friend -,
some bills near deadline for payment,
books,
my favorite ring ever,
umbrellas,
some money,
key chains,
a bunch of pictures,
notes for a knights' novel,
several pens and mechanical pencils,
a tiny elephant piece from my collection,
postcards I never sent to friends,
phone numbers on small slips of paper,
jigsaw puzzles pieces,
CDs left out of their cases,
bus tickets
among other things that have also lost place in my memory.
But among all the things I lost,
the ones I miss most
are some friendly faces I may never see again.
We lose sight of people unintentionally.
One minute they're right there by your side,
the next,
they are missing.
We're orphans.
I wish I could have done better,
but I lost myself, too
and totally forgot to leave bread crumbles to help me find my way back home
- It took me a little long,
but I found myself again.│

Às vezes eu queria poder viver numa lembrança boa.
