Hoje cedo
um jato cortou o céu
em duas partes.

A lua cheia
observava Vênus
desaparecer na imensidão.


Early this morning
a jet plane cut the sky
into two halves.

Full moon watched
Venus fade away
into the distance.

    There's something unsettling about this cut, this line. It's like a scar. It speaks of pain.

    And then the moon watching Venus fade away, like a lover watching a beloved leave. There's a pain to that as well; a scar that can't be seen.

    The image does well with the poem and gives it an essence worth reading.
    Very well written.
    Sarah, you know, when I read the title, I thought it must be another of those clichéd poem but no it wasn't. In fact, it was so brilliant that I even decided to comment. Well done.

    You reminded me of my early morning walks with my dad when i was young. I always used to ask him how come there's that weird line in the sky? wonderful times whose were. Thanks for the memories!
