Descendo a Rua Solitude
outro dia
vi uma casa na
Travessa dos Amantes
que poderia ser minha
Porta vermelha
Clarabóia
duas cadeiras brancas
sentadas na varanda
Com a primavera
e um Coração de Leão
eu poderia plantar
margaridas
Mas é só janeiro
e ainda faz frio.
Coming down Solitude Street
the other day
I spotted a house
I could afford
on Lovers Lane
Red door
skylight
two white chairs
sitting on the porch
With spring
and a Lionheart in the air
I could grow daisies
But it's only January
and it's still too cold.
(Offered to One Shot Wednesday over at one stop poetry)
achei linda essa tradução poética de uma pequena epifania cotidiana.

ReplyDeleteDeixa o sol entrar Kenia! =)
ReplyDeleteUm Beijo
Algum dia só vou querer uma varanda.
ReplyDeleteEstou enganado em pensar que não é um só poema em versão bilíngue? Pois na versão em inglês esse frio parecerá tão natural; mas em português se faz extemporâneo. E muito mais simbólico!
ReplyDeleteEncontrarei essas ruas no Google Earth?
Beijo, Kenia.
Lindooooooooooooooooooo. Lindaaaaaaaaa...rs
Samuel Pimenta.
Casou, mudou e não me convidou?
ReplyDeleteExemplary metaphorical work.

ReplyDeleteOo well I came to say hi once more my beatiful friend!
ReplyDeletelove the "it's not time yet" to this work. how frustrated we all can get "waiting" for something. great job, dear kenia
ReplyDeleteI really love stumbling through your poems in Spanish and then having you correct and amplify my understanding in English. This is a tight and evocative bit of writing, Kenia. Enjoyed it very much.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lines that sound effortless; especially enjoyed the second stanza.
ReplyDeletewow ! love your poetry ! i have visited here before too i remember .. and i liked this place a lot :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Kenia! Your poetry is wonderful. :)
ReplyDeletenessa varanda

Good stuff. A critic's choice of words.
ReplyDelete..smiles..
You're so kind with words...
ReplyDeleteAgain and again.
Beautiful and a little sad - just the way I like it. Two chairs remind me of Thoreau and what he says about having one chair for solitude, two for friendship, and that if there's company they'll have to stand (or something like it).
ReplyDeleteBe well, dear Kenia
